A
city founded in 1658, it has a major tourist complex where its
main attraction are the thermal sources where take place gatherings
directed by specialists in hydrotherapiys, thalassotherapy, aerobic
exercises and other things.
We can also find Lake Sochagota and a modern Convention Centre,
the Casona of Salitre, as one of the largest and loveliest colonial
estates, which was owned by the religious community of the Jesuits,
now transformed into a conventional lodging.
Another site of great interest to visit is the Monument to the
Vargas Marsh. Where there is a huge bronze sculpture, by artist
Arenas Betancourt.
